Blaauwberg Kite Beach -Blaauwberg Watersport
Blaauwberg Beach has a pleasant long and broad beach with great views of Table Mountain and especially of Robben Island.
The beach atBlaauwberg has two rocky points that extend out into the sea creating a small bay in which surfing, windsurfing and swimming are popular. The beach itself has nice white sand with a few pebbles scattered around.
To the left of the beach is Blaauwberg Beach which you can reach on foot and to the right there is a long section of beach which is great for walking. There are refreshments available at the Café which is situated behind the lifeguard stand.
Other nearby beaches
Blaauwberg has some lovely rock pools and the viewpoint from here of the bay and Table Mountain has graced many a postcard.
Table View has a number of restaurants and venues for sundowners and Dolphin beach is the first of this series of beaches reached from the M14 and is synonymous with kitesurfing. Dolphin Beach or also called Blaauwberg Beach is in walking distance from Alpha du Cap Guest House.
Milnerton is well known for its lighthouse, which sits virtually on the beach and is great for swimming as, unlike Dolphin Beach, it is manned by lifeguards. There are also a number of beach cafes and restaurants here. |
